Description

As a subcontractor to a large business, EnviroSure conducted Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) of over 30 properties in West Virginia, Virginia, Maine, and Pennsylvania for the National Park Service (NPS). The tracts ranged from 500-acre wooded parcels to one-acre residential properties. The Phase I and II ESAs were conducted prior to acquisition of the tracts in efforts to increase the extents of the National Parks, Recreation Areas, and Military Parks.

The Phase I ESAs were conducted in accordance with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard Practice E 1527 for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process (ASTM E 1527) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) approved All Appropriate Inquiry Rule.

Based on the former presence of underground storage tanks (USTs) on several properties, EnviroSure conducted Phase II ESAs using a truck-mounted Geoprobe to characterize soil conditions. A Professional Geologist logged soil and collected soil samples for EnviroSure during the Phase II ESAs, EnviroSure also conducted asbestos inspections of several structures that the NPS planned for demolition following acquisition.
